Marian, Two and a half years with the KineSpring® System
Marian's work as a dog trainer can require her to run over 150 meters in a period of 30 seconds, but she suffers from painful osteoarthritis in both knees. She
previously had a high tibial osteotomy (HTO) on one knee, but a long and painful recovery and diminishing pain relief discouraged her from having an HTO procedure
performed on her second knee. Instead, Marian chose to have the KineSpring system implanted, and she's reported a favorable recovery period and duration of pain
relief, compared to her HTO knee. She has now had her KineSpring System implant for over two and a half years, and she hopes to have a second KineSpring System
placed on the knee originally treated with an HTO.
Your doctor can help determine the best course of treatment for your individual situation, depending on the severity of your disease and your desired activity level. If you have any questions about osteoarthritis or your specific treatment options, please consult with your doctor.
